Got the blues

haiku stash_499
I picked up a little treat at the Twist Fibre Festival.
Some lovely silk/mohair laceweight in tealy blues.

I'm thinking of an ombré effect shawl.
Not sure what pattern to use. Perhaps this, this or this.

Any thoughts?

My goodness those are dreamy. I could float away on those clouds of blues :)
I'm sure whatever you decide on it will turn out beautiful.

I'm not sure I would be able to make anything out of that yarn. I'd probably just sit and stare at it!

But I do like the first pattern on your list. I think it could do the yarn justice...maybe?

I would go simpler to show the effects of the yarn off more. So, this the first or this the second get my vote!

It's quite dreamy. So light and airy. I would probably go with the first pattern, but I know what you end up making with it will be beautiful.

i like the blackbird pattern best--it has the right amount of stockingknit vs lace...and those blocked points are to die for!

Wonderful!

I vote for the blackbird... or one like this but using the three shades of yarn : http://www.ravelry.com/projects/suseknits/june-bunnies-shawl

I've knit Ene before and it is a well-written pattern. I really enjoyed knitting it.

I love blue too :0 Here's a link for you -- the llama farm next door to me -- I didn't suspect they were such a big yarn operation.

Oh yes! Citron might look nice with the subtle color variations.

So pretty! An ombre effect shawl would be gorgeous. I've knit a Citron, and it turned out very nicely, but knitting all that stockinette got a little old. Have you considered an Aranami Shawl?

The yarn is so spectacular - the patterns all seem kind of fancy - what about something like the Belinda from Mason-Dixon - it's so simple that it really makes the yarn the star. Just a thought. Whatever you knit will be lovely!

shades of blue bring me right back to the ocean and nova scotia. Thought of you plenty out there.

oh my these colors are stunning (i love your photos too). rowan has a couple lovely patterns that require kidsilk haze, a mohair silk laceweight. i made a scarf for a gift recently and loved working with this yarn so much i'd like to make the wrap next. it would work with your beautiful blues. (and the citron, i've had it queued). i can't wait to see what you make.
