A mama robin decided to make her nest on the windowsill of one of my colleagues at work. He installed a camera to capture the nestlings' progress and made a time lapse montage. It's amazing to watch.
The adult birds never stop caring for their young, much like all you hard-working parents out there.
that was so amazing!! wow, what a pleasure to see something like that close up.
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing video. that is one busy mama.
ReplyDeleteSo cool. T and I just watched this together. She kept saying "Bordy sit in, bordy seepin"
ReplyDeleteIts amazing how far she puts her beak in when she's feeding them, you'd think they'd choke!
Wonderful! A precarious place to nest... and amazing to see how big the chicks got and the mum perching on top!

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to watch this again with my wee folk. Thank you for sharing this! I loved the night time part and when she had bug for each beek, priceless! XX
ReplyDeleteit is an exhausting job, parenthood but it is filled with treasures and then one day they do leave the nest:)
ReplyDeleteSpectacular! We had nesting robins in June and it is an amazing thing to witness. Our brood of three stayed around our garden for a couple of weeks after leaving the nest. They even came back to the nest, but really only landed there for a few moments. Once they lost their speckled chest feathers and 'learn the ropes' of being a robin, I couldn't tell my brood from the other robins. But, it is truly a miracle.
ReplyDeleteHow incredible, and rather sobering.
ReplyDeletewhat an exhausting video!
ReplyDeletelaruelapalooza.blogspot.com had some pretty amazing shots of robins growing up on her porch
